You can set up a new investment profile in the Investment Profiles section of the website or app. On the website, access your Investment Profiles in the dropdown menu next to your name in the top right hand corner of your dashboard, or via My Account in the menu. In the OnMarket app, you can find Investment Profiles in the menu.
If you have an existing share trading account with a broker or online trading platform you can include your CHESS Holder Identification Number (HIN) in the setup of your investment profile. If you include your HIN, any shares you get allocated via OnMarket will appear under that brokerage account, provided that your details are entered exactly as they appear on the CHESS register. Should you want to sell these shares at any stage, you can contact your broker to do so.
If you don’t have an existing share trading account with a broker or online trading platform, you can set up a new investment profile via OnMarket and the shares will be allocated to you under a Shareholder Reference Number (SRN) and held in the Issuer Sponsored sub-register. More information is available here.
When setting up your investment profile, it is important that you enter the correct name and address details, as the share registry will issue the shares in this exact name. If your details do not exactly match your CHESS statement, you will be issued shares under a Shareholder Registration Number (SRN).
